place-based spaces

studio hagen is a Pacific Northwest–based architecture and design practice rooted in a respect and celebration of place.
We focus on creating spaces that strengthen the connections between people, nature, and community.

Our work is guided by the idea of place-keeping rather than place-making. We listen and observe first, and then develop our work in ways that feel grounded in what’s already there. We’re inspired by natural surroundings, honest materials, and simple details that are meant to last and age well.

Each project balances intuition and care with curiosity and craft. We work collaboratively, paying close attention to site, people, and process, arriving to solutions that are practical, thoughtful, (and joyful!).
