well, well, well
place: multiple sites across WA state - an r+d study utilizing active studio hagen projects to study how we can integrate wellness-focused spaces into our daily lives.
program: this project studies the intricate connection between mind, body, and space, and how we can immerse ourselves in the art of sauna, soaking, and other sensory experiences, unlocking the profound potential they hold for holistic rejuvenation. The significance of connection to space and place on our physical and psychological wellbeing, is a conduit for the senses. Through these crafted environments that resonate with the primal essence of human existence—a harmonious blend of earthy elements that ground us in the present moment.
At the heart of this project lies the recognition of the intrinsic link between the individual and their environment. We recognize the body as a sacred vessel, deserving of nurturing and care, and our spaces serve as sanctuaries for its restoration. Senses of serenity and balance are created through spaces such as the soothing embrace of a sauna to the tranquil refuge of a soaking tub. Microarchitecture connects with ritual and tempos of bathing cultures.
